Which tattoos that artists won't recommend

Dec 01, 2022

Even though tattoo artists' job is to do what the customer wants, we still advise against certain things. Of course if the customer really wants it, we will do it for them because thats job, and other people like other things. Buuut the main things we advise against are as below:

Names- I don't mean children's names or parents' names etc. But i mean signifigant others names, like a wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband etc. We always advise against these, but people always insist. You have no idean how many people come back and say “can you cover this?” trust me its very hard to not say i told you so. trust me, its just not a good idea. They say forever but you never know.

Finger tattoos, or hand tattoos- don't get me wrong, i love finger tattoos, and hand tattoos, so let me explain why this is one we don't recommend. If you have no tattoos, or no tattoos on your arms, never get finger or hand tattoos. Start with somthing else. If you have virgin arms but tattooed up hands, It. Will. Look. Weird! Also you never know if you want to get a sleeve, and if you want lets say an angel sleeve, but a turtle on you hand, That. Is. not. Going. To. Work! Also so many young girls want tiny little tattoos on their fingers, and honestly they look good at first but just wait a few years, and it will blow up two times the size. This is becuase thats what ink does over a few years, especially on the fingers, its a different type of skin. If your tattoo artist has not tattooed fingers or hands much. Do Not Go To Them. Tattooing fingers is REALLY HARD, and if you have someone who doesnt know what their doing, then it will blow up after a few years, and the healing process will suck, and you will lose ink!

Face tattoos- all i can say is you better have a good job.

Placement- Tattoos don't just look good because they are done well, or its a cool picture. Placement is everything. If you have a tattoo thats not centered, or it does flow well with the body part its on. it will look wrong. Tattoos that flow with the curve of your body part or fit in that spot, will look better. Tattoos that are too small for the area will look funny, same with one that's too big.
